The Founding Unmothered Circle™

8 Women · 8 Weeks · $850

An intimate first gathering of eight women ready to understand what they inherited, tend to what they did not receive, and choose what they carry forward.

Individual work can take you far. But there is something that happens in a room of women who carry the same wound, a kind of recognition that no one-to-one relationship can replicate. You do not have to explain yourself here. They already know.

You may recognize yourself here

She was there.
But she was never really there.

You grew up feeling invisible in your own home. Not because you were unloved necessarily, but because you were never truly seen.

You learned early to manage your emotions alone. To not need too much. To be the one who holds it together so others do not have to.

You have a persistent sense of not being enough, in your relationships, your parenting, your work, even when the evidence says otherwise.

You find intimacy difficult. Being truly known by someone feels dangerous even when you desperately want it.

You have done work on yourself, read the books, maybe even done therapy, and you understand the wound intellectually. But something in you has not yet shifted at the level you know it needs to.

You are tired of carrying this quietly. You are ready to be in a room where you do not have to explain yourself from the beginning.

If you read that and felt something shift in your chest, you are in the right place.

What the Circle is

Not a support group.
Not a lecture.
A facilitated container for real change.

These eight women are not testing an unfinished idea. They are the first to receive it. Founding members get more of me than any group after them will. That means a live circle capped at eight, and the ability to message me directly between sessions with questions about the work, with a reply within two business days.

There will only ever be one Founding Circle.

The Unmothered Circle is a facilitated group experience led by Amelia Mora Mars, LMFT. It meets weekly for eight weeks, live online via Google Meet, wherever you are.

The group is intentionally small, a maximum of eight women, so that every person in the room has space to be known, not just heard. This is not a place to sit quietly in the back. It is a place to do the work alongside women who understand it from the inside.

The group experience itself is part of what makes the Circle different. Being witnessed and understood by women who recognize this experience creates a kind of connection that is difficult to find elsewhere. You begin to practice showing up differently, with more honesty, self-trust, compassion, and choice, alongside women doing the same work.

What if My Life Is Already Really Full?

Eight weeks is not nothing. A woman with a full life, a job, kids, a marriage to tend, does not have hours to spare on something that will not move her forward.

Each week asks for a short teaching video, time with your own Heart Work reflections, and one live hour together on Wednesday mornings. The reflections are not extra credit. They are what make the live hour work, the place where your own story meets what you are learning. Most weeks, this comes to under two hours total.

If your week truly has no room for this right now, this may not be the season. The Circle will run again.

From understanding to carrying forward

The Unmothered Circle™
Eight Week Journey

The Unmothered Circle does not ask you to blame your mother or stay stuck in the past. Across eight weeks, you come to understand what you did not receive, recognize what you learned to do because of it, and choose what you carry forward.

01 Following the Thread

Why does this work matter to me?

You go beneath the surface reasons and discover what you most deeply want to change, protect, and pass forward differently.

02 The Imprint of Comfort

What did I learn about having feelings and needs?

You explore memories of comfort and emotional responsiveness, and what happened in the moments you needed someone.

03 The Role I Learned to Play

Who did I have to become in my family?

The good girl, the achiever, the caretaker, the peacekeeper, the invisible one, the strong one. You trace how that role still operates in your life today.

04 What I Learned About Love

How did early connection shape what I expect from relationships?

Attachment, closeness, rejection, approval, and emotional availability, and the ways you learned to hold on to connection.

05 Mothering Myself Differently

What do I do with what I did not receive?

You move beyond insight toward re-mothering yourself, responding with compassion, protection, permission, comfort, and boundaries.

06 When the Old Pattern Gets Activated

Why do I still react when I know better?

You recognize your triggers and automatic responses, overfunctioning, guilt, people-pleasing, shutting down, controlling, and rescuing, and learn to pause before repeating them.

07 Becoming Emotionally Safe

What do I want to offer differently in my relationships and motherhood?

Emotional presence, repair, listening, and boundaries, and letting your children, and yourself, be fully human.

08 What I Carry Forward

What ends with me, and what begins with me?

Integration and self-trust. You identify what you are keeping, what you are releasing, and what you intentionally carry into the next generation.

Who this is for and who it is not

This group works because
everyone in it is ready.

The Unmothered Circle is a carefully held space. Its power comes from the fact that every woman who enters it is stable enough to show up for others, not just herself. This is not a crisis group. It is a growth-focused, facilitated experience.

This is for you if

You are emotionally stable and functional in your daily life even when things are hard

You have some awareness of the mother wound and its impact on your life

You are ready to hold space for others, not just receive it yourself

You can commit to showing up consistently for eight weeks

You are open to being seen and challenged, not just validated

This is not the right fit if

You are currently in active crisis or acute emotional distress

You need more intensive individual support before you are ready for group work

You are not yet able to be present for others in the room

Your schedule does not allow for consistent weekly attendance

You are looking for a place to vent rather than a place to grow

If you are not sure whether this is the right fit, reach out before enrolling and Amelia will talk it through with you. If individual therapy is a better first step, she will tell you honestly, and can often help connect you with the right support.

Amelia Mora Mars, LMFT

Amelia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Westlake Village, California. She specializes in generational healing and the mother wound, with much of her work centered on women, relationships, and the patterns we carry from our families of origin. She also works with Christian women and provides couples and premarital counseling, helping people understand how their early experiences shape the way they love, connect, and relate. The UnMothered Circle™ is coaching and education, not psychotherapy, and is not a substitute for individual treatment.

She is also a daughter who was raised by an emotionally unavailable mother. She knows this wound from the inside. She spent years performing strength, protecting everyone around her, and staying quiet about her own needs. Somewhere in the middle of that, she knew she wanted her children to grow up certain they were accepted exactly as they were, not for what they achieved or how well they held everything together.

She is also a mother of ten and a woman who did the work. She brings both her clinical training and her lived experience into every group she facilitates. Nothing you bring into that room will surprise her or overwhelm her. She has been there.
